Nutritional Therapy
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is evidence based and combines cutting edge science with holistic, naturopathic principles to help an individual maximize their health and vitality. It looks at the whole person and underlying cause of health conditions instead of symptoms only. It recognises that each of us is unique and each Nutritional Therapy programme is carefully tailored to suit the needs of the individual.
Using a personalised nutritional and supplementation programme, it aims to get to the root of a health problem and address the underlying cause, rather than focusing on symptoms only.
Each nutritional programme is carefully tailored to suit the needs of the individual based upon information provided in a detailed medical, lifestyle and health questionnaire followed by a one-to-one consultation.
Almost anyone may benefit from a personalised nutritional therapy programme and it may for example:
-increase energy levels
-improve skin conditions
-correct nutrient deficiencies
-assist with weight loss
-provide immune support
-bring blood pressure to a healthy level
-reduce cholesterol levels
-improve digestive function
-improve inflammatory conditions
-remove allergens
-help with detoxification

The Nutritional Therapy Consultation
You will be asked to fill out a health and lifestyle questionnaire in advance of your initial consultation and this should be filled in and returned at least three days before your consultation. This will enable Hazel to start researching your health concerns and commence working on your own unique nutritional programme. You will also be asked to fill out a 5 day food diary, including a weekend day.
The initial consultation will last around 60 minutes and we will discuss relevant issues arising from your questionnaire in order to build a more complete picture of your health. We will also talk about the practicalities of implementing your programme. Hazel will then design your personalised nutritional programme, including meal suggestions and recipes. This will be sent to you within 7 days of the consultation.
Nutritional Therapy is most successful when done in phases, therefore several consultations are normally necessary to achieve the best results. Subsequent consultations are usually 30 - 45 minutes and may be 4 - 6 weeks apart, however the frequency and number of appointments depends on you.
A combined nutritional therapy and life coaching programme is also available for those who'd like life coaching consultations between nutritional therapy appointments. Life coaching tools will be used to guide you towards your unique nutritional goals. Hazel often life coaches those who already have an idea about what nutritional goals they wish to achieve, however want the support of a life coach to successfully achieve these goals. She works with a lot of people who'd like to lose weight through nutrition and lifestyle.
If stress management is one of your goals, relaxation methods involving Qigong breathwork are sometimes introduced into the sessions too when appropriate.
All information you provide will be treated as confidential.
Please email Hazel if you're interested in a consultation, with a brief description of why you'd like a nutritional therapy consultation or any one of the above combined packages.
